From School Library Journal Kindergarten-Grade 2-Mr. Peters is an inventor and owner of the Yum, Yum Chocolate Candy factory. His two employees are Johnny, who loves his job almost as much as he loves his yellow rubber ducky, and Pauline, who loves her job and playing the drums. One day the duck falls into the chocolate vat and chaos ensues. Mr. Peters scuba dives to the rescue through pipes filled with chocolate and comes up with a wonderful idea (drum roll from Pauline!). Soon everyone in the town is celebrating the Yum, Yum Chocolate Duckies with a big parade full of Ducky hats and Ducky balloons and lots of chocolate duckies. This wildly nonsensical story should appeal to the younger set, with sly cartoon illustrations delineating plenty of amusing action on every part of each and every page.
